Custom API Integration
Whether you’re extending an existing website, building a completely new customer experience or integrating Smartix into your own software, our API gives you the flexibility to make wallet passes a natural part of your business.
Every business is different. The Smartix API lets you integrate wallet passes into your own websites, applications and existing systems while keeping complete control of the customer experience.
Whether you’re extending an e-commerce website, adding digital memberships to an existing customer portal or building something entirely new, the Smartix API allows wallet passes to become a natural part of your own systems.
Your customers continue interacting with your website or application while Smartix quietly handles the complexity of creating, updating and managing digital wallet passes behind the scenes.
Our API is designed to be practical, consistent, logical and simple to use, allowing developers to add Smartix functionality without fuss or difficulty.
One recent integration added a complete loyalty card system to an existing e-commerce website in just two days. Customers could request their own loyalty cards, automatically collect and redeem points during checkout, while administrators managed balances, adjusted points and sent customer notifications directly from the website’s existing administration system.
The result was a fully integrated customer experience that looked and behaved as though it had always been part of the retailer’s own website.
The best APIs aren’t designed once and left untouched. They evolve through real-world experience, becoming simpler, more capable and easier to integrate over time.
Like Smartix itself, our API continues to evolve as customers and developers find new ways to use it. We began by implementing the core functionality needed to create and manage wallet passes. As real integrations were developed, we identified opportunities to make common tasks simpler and reduce the amount of code required.
For example, our original Managed Pass functions provided a great deal of flexibility, but we discovered that some integrations were performing the same sequence of API calls repeatedly. Rather than replacing those functions, we introduced new higher-level endpoints that perform the most common tasks in a single call, making integrations quicker to build while still allowing developers to use the original functions whenever finer control is required.
Our philosophy is simple: make the common tasks simple, without taking away the flexibility to do something more advanced.
Whether you already have developers or are just exploring ideas, we’d be happy to discuss how Smartix could integrate with your existing systems.
