Working with the Smartix team
Choosing Smartix isn’t just choosing a platform. It’s choosing the team behind it. You’re free to use Smartix independently, work with your own developers or involve us as much or as little as you’d like.
There’s no single right way to use Smartix. Some customers simply create an account and get started. Others want to explore ideas, discuss customer journeys or understand how Smartix could fit into their business.
Every business is different, and we think the conversations we have with our customers should reflect that. Rather than starting with a list of features, we’d much rather understand what you’re trying to achieve.
Sometimes you’ll discover that Smartix already provides exactly what you need. Other times we’ll suggest a different approach that makes better use of the platform. If you’re building your own integration, we can often point you towards the APIs and features that will save you time.
The important thing is that the conversation starts with your business, not our software. Whether you’re creating a simple loyalty scheme or exploring something more ambitious, our goal is always the same: helping you find the best way to achieve the outcome you’re looking for.
Smartix already includes a comprehensive set of tools designed to cover the vast majority of customer engagement scenarios.
For most businesses, getting started is simply a case of choosing the tools that best suit your business.
Design and manage your passes in Smartix Studio. Use Smartix Scan to verify tickets, add loyalty points or redeem rewards. Connect your Shopify store with our Shopify App, or integrate Smartix directly into your own systems using our API.
The tools are designed to work together, but you don’t have to use them all. Some businesses rely entirely on Smartix Studio, while others build sophisticated integrations around the API. You’re free to start simple, add more over time or use only the parts that make sense for your business.
The best ideas don’t always come from software developers. Sometimes they come from businesses looking at the same problem from a completely different perspective.
One of the things we enjoy most is seeing how different organisations use Smartix in ways we hadn’t originally imagined.
For example, we originally saw membership cards as a way to verify entry to clubs, gyms and other member-only venues. One retailer had a different idea. Rather than controlling entry, they wanted members to receive preferential pricing in their store. That conversation led to membership discounts becoming part of the Smartix Shopify App, giving every future Smartix customer another way to use membership cards.
Another organisation, working on behalf of multiple clients, asked whether they could manage all of their customers from a single Smartix account. It made perfect sense, so we added multi-client support to Smartix Studio. Again, a conversation with one organisation resulted in a feature that benefits many others.
Not every conversation leads to a new feature, but they often lead to better ideas. That’s one of the ways Smartix continues to evolve.
There’s no formula for deciding what happens next. We simply look for the approach that delivers the best outcome for everyone involved.
Sometimes the answer is simple. Smartix may already support exactly what you’re trying to achieve, or there may be a different approach that works even better than the one you had in mind.
Occasionally, a conversation highlights an opportunity to make Smartix better for everyone. If we believe a new feature, pass type or API enhancement could benefit many customers, it becomes a strong candidate for our roadmap.
Sometimes a requirement is unique to a single organisation. In those situations, we may be able to develop bespoke functionality specifically for your business. Whether that’s the right approach depends on the complexity of the work, how widely it might benefit other customers and the resources involved.
Whatever the outcome, we’d much rather have an interesting conversation than simply tell you “that’s not supported.”
Whether you’re planning a straightforward loyalty scheme or wondering if Smartix could support something a little different, we’d love to hear from you.
